Metros hope for fireworks a day early at Ezell Park
The Metros will hope to get their first win in July when the Bradenton Academics who are top on the Southeastern division travel to Nashville. The Metros recently returned from a tough road trip where they tied the New Orleans Jesters 1-1, when Dustin Dawes crushed in a free kick for his seconded goal of the season. Two days later the Metros were defeated by the Mississippi Brilla 0-4.
The Metros 2-6-4 will be facing the Academics 6-1-3 the top team in the Southeastern Division
GAME: Bradenton Academics vs. Nashville Metros
DATE: Friday, July 3
TIME: 7:00 p.m. CDT
LOCATION: Ezell Park Stadium, Nashville
The Metros will have to contain Bradenton’s Zak Boggs who is the current points leader in the Southeastern conference. Zak has 20 pts through 11 games 7 more than anyone else in our conference. Coach Richard Askey is hoping new addition Jason Bristol will help shut Zak down. “ Jason is one of the top defenders in the PDL his height, speed and strength offer a unique challenge to all attackers. I know he will have his hands full with zak but I think hes up to the challenge.
Jason Bristol is entering his third season with the Nashville Metros. He is one of the many homegrown players currently on the squad. He graduated high school at BGA where he was an all-state selection. He also led BGA to the 2006 state championship. He is currently a senior at the University of West Virginia where he has been a main stay on their defense for the last 3 years. Great things are expected from the Jason in the future on and off the soccer field. Jason will be signing autographs after the game this Friday.
