NASHVILLE, TN -- The Nashville Metros squared off against top seeded New Orleans Jesters on Friday night. Nashville was looking to avenge their lopsided loss to the Jesters earlier this season, but had to settle for a scoreless draw.

Due to the heavy rain seen the night before, Nashville’s field was plenty wet and players from both teams had trouble keeping their feet.

The weather almost proved to be detrimental to the Metros as keeper Kyle Roelke struggled to hold onto a wet ball early in the first half. Roelke was able to recover from his fumble, however, to deter the Jesters shot and keep the score knotted at zero.

The most compelling point of the first half came after a strong tackle from Metros forward Scott Davidson on Jesters defender Chris Williams. The two got tangled up on the ground, and an altercation subsequently followed. Both benches were out of their seats before the referee stepped in to separate the two players.

The Metros kept up their intensity throughout the second half, and created several scoring opportunities. The Metros best scoring chance came off of a corner kick that found defender Garrett McLoughlin on the back post. His header hit off of the post and was then cleared by the Jesters defense.

After the final whistle had blown and the dust had cleared, the Nashville Metros earned a hard fought point against the top ranked team in the Southeastern division of the PDL.

The team will play again in Nashville next Saturday, June 20 to take on the Central Florida Kraze.
